Skoppe lets you share a single punch item with someone outside your project using a limited-access link. This is useful when a subcontractor, vendor, worker, or field contact needs to see one punch item, add an update, upload a photo, or mark the work complete without getting access to the full project.

When to use a shareable punch item link

Use a shareable punch item link when the person responsible for the work is not set up as a Skoppe user, is not assigned to the project, or only needs access to one specific item. Instead of sending screenshots and chasing updates by text, the shared link keeps the punch details, photos, comments, and completion status in one place.

How to share a punch item

  1. Open the project in Skoppe.
  2. Go to the Punch section.
  3. Open the punch item you want to share.
  4. Tap the share button in the top-right corner of the punch item page.
  5. Choose Share link to send the punch item using your phone’s native share options.
  6. Choose Copy link if you want to paste the punch item link into a text message, email, WhatsApp message, or another app.
  7. Choose Manage link if you want to control whether the link is active and what the recipient is allowed to do.
  8. Send the link to the subcontractor, vendor, worker, or field contact.
  9. The recipient opens the link and sees a limited punch item page.
  10. If allowed, they can add updates, upload photos, and mark the work complete.

What the shared recipient can access

  • They can view the specific punch item that was shared with them.
  • They can see the punch title, status, trade, location, project name, and photos or markups tied to that item.
  • They can add an update or progress note if comments are allowed.
  • They can upload photos if photo uploads are allowed.
  • They can mark the work complete if mark complete is allowed.
  • They cannot see the project dashboard, schedule, media library, team list, budget, or other punch items.
  • They do not get full project access through the shared link.

FAQ

Do shared punch item links require the recipient to have a Skoppe account?

No. The recipient can open the shared punch item link without being a registered Skoppe user. They only get access to the specific punch item that was shared.

Can I share a punch item with someone who is already assigned in Skoppe?

Yes, but it may not be necessary. Assigned subcontractors who already have Skoppe access can see their assigned work normally. Share links are mainly useful for people outside the project.

Can someone with the link see other punch items?

No. A shared punch item link only gives access to that one punch item. It does not open the rest of the project.

Can I turn off a shared punch item link?

Yes. Open the punch item, tap the share button, choose Manage link, and turn off the link status. Once disabled, the link will no longer be available.

Can I control what the recipient is allowed to do?

Yes. In Manage link, you can control whether the recipient can add comments, upload photos, and mark the punch item complete.

What should I send with the link?

Skoppe includes the punch item details and the view link when you share it. The message should clearly show the punch title, trade, location, project, and link so the recipient knows exactly what needs attention.

Why is this better than texting a screenshot?

A screenshot is disconnected from the work record. A Skoppe share link keeps the punch item, photos, updates, and completion status attached to the actual item in the project.
