How to Calculate Wall Studs
To estimate wall studs, divide the wall length by the selected on-center spacing, round up to the next stud position, and account for studs at the wall ends. Additional studs may be needed for corners, openings, and jobsite waste. Stud spacing is commonly expressed as on-center spacing, meaning the distance from the center of one stud to the center of the next.
