The Budget area in Skoppe gives construction teams a clear view of project financials without needing to manage the whole project from a spreadsheet. It organizes the budget by trade or subcontractor, shows what has been paid, what is still remaining, and helps the project team understand where the money stands.

Why budget tracking matters

On most construction projects, the financial picture changes as bids are awarded, payments are made, work progresses, and scope changes happen. If the budget is not connected to the project workflow, it becomes hard to see which trades are paid, which balances are still open, and where costs may be getting out of control. Skoppe keeps the budget close to the actual work, so the numbers are easier to understand and act on.

How the Budget area works in Skoppe

  1. Open the Budget tab from the project navigation to view the project’s financial summary.
  2. Review each trade or subcontractor row to see the current budget, paid amount, remaining balance, GC commission, and progress.
  3. Use the current budget column to understand the approved or expected cost for each trade.
  4. Use the paid column to see how much has already been paid to that trade or subcontractor.
  5. Use the remaining column to see what is still open and unpaid.
  6. Use the progress column to quickly understand how much of that trade budget has already been paid.
  7. Record payments as they happen so the budget stays current and useful.

What this helps contractors see

  • Which trades have the largest open balances.
  • Which subcontractors have already been mostly paid.
  • Which parts of the project still need financial attention.
  • How much money remains on each trade budget.
  • Whether project payments are moving in line with the work.
  • A cleaner financial snapshot for owners, managers, and project teams.
