Punch work often involves people who are not fully set up inside your project software yet. A subcontractor, a foreman, a helper, a vendor, or a field contact may need to see one specific punch item, send a photo, or mark it complete. Skoppe now makes that simple with shareable punch item links.
Why punch items get lost in text messages
Most punch work still gets handled through screenshots, text messages, and group chats. That may get the message out, but it separates the task from the photos, the location, the updates, and the completion status. The GC is left chasing replies, saving photos manually, and trying to remember what was actually finished.
How shareable punch links work
- Open a punch item in Skoppe.
- Tap the share button.
- Choose Share link, Copy link, or Manage link.
- Send the link using your phone’s native share options, text message, email, or any app you use in the field.
- The recipient opens a limited punch item page.
- They can view the punch details, see photos and markups, add updates, upload photos, and mark the work complete if allowed.
- They only get access to that one punch item, not the full project.
Why this matters on a construction site
- Share one punch item without giving access to the entire project.
- Loop in outside subcontractors, vendors, workers, or field contacts quickly.
- Keep updates, photos, and completion status attached to the actual punch item.
- Reduce back-and-forth texting and repeated follow-up calls.
- Give assigned Skoppe subcontractors normal access while still supporting outside contacts.
- Control the link with settings for comments, photo uploads, and mark complete.
- Keep a cleaner record of what was sent, updated, and completed.
FAQ
Do assigned subcontractors still get normal access?
Yes. If the subcontractor is already assigned in Skoppe and has access to the project, they can continue using Skoppe normally. The share link is mainly for people outside the project.
Can someone with the link see the whole project?
No. The shared link only opens the specific punch item. It does not give access to the project dashboard, schedule, media, team, budget, or other punch items.
What can a shared link user do?
Depending on the link settings, they can view the punch item, see photos and markups, add updates, upload photos, and mark the work complete.
Can the GC disable the link?
Yes. The link settings allow the GC to disable the link or control what actions are allowed.
Why not just send a screenshot?
A screenshot does not keep the work connected to the punch item. With Skoppe, the update, photo, and completion status stay attached to the actual punch item record.
