Skoppe is building a focused Edit Member experience inside Members & Access. Organization owners and authorized administrators will be able to open one team member, review their current access, and make changes without working through a long or cluttered settings screen. The goal is to keep common controls simple while still providing detailed permission options when they are needed.

Individual access settings can become complicated quickly

A construction company may have owners, office administrators, project managers, estimators, field staff, and subcontractor administrators using the same platform. Each person may need a different combination of organization permissions and project access. When all permission controls are shown at once, administrators can have difficulty understanding which settings come from the role, which ones were customized, and which projects the member can actually open.

How editing an individual member will work

  1. Open Members & Access from Organization Settings and select Edit beside the member.
  2. Review the member's name, email, current status, and organization role.
  3. Change the role or status when the member's responsibilities or access needs change.
  4. Use the role defaults for most members so permissions remain consistent across the organization.
  5. Expand Customize permissions only when the member needs access that differs from the selected role.
  6. Review organization-level permissions such as billing access, member invitations, project invitations, subcontractor awards, and member management.
  7. Choose whether the member can access all projects, selected projects, or no projects.
  8. Open Manage projects to add or remove specific project assignments.
  9. Review any billing impact created by the selected role or seat type.
  10. Save the changes to update the member's access.

Why this matters

  • Keeps the most common member controls visible without showing every advanced setting at once.
  • Makes it clear which permissions come from the member's role.
  • Allows authorized administrators to create exceptions only when necessary.
  • Helps prevent accidental access to billing, organization settings, or unrelated projects.
  • Makes project assignments easier to review and update.
  • Shows the billing impact before a role or seat change is saved.
  • Creates a consistent access-management process as the construction team grows.

FAQ

What can I change when editing a member in Skoppe?

Depending on your permissions, you can update the member's organization role, status, supported permission overrides, and project access.

What does Role default mean?

Role default means the permission follows the normal access rules assigned to the member's selected organization role. This keeps access consistent and reduces unnecessary custom settings.

When should I customize a member's permissions?

Customize permissions only when the member needs access that is different from the standard access provided by the role. Most members should continue using role defaults.

What organization permissions can be managed?

Supported permissions may include organization billing access, inviting organization members, inviting project members, awarding or inviting subcontractors, and managing member settings.

Can every member receive every permission?

No. Certain permissions are limited to owners or organization administrators. Skoppe will restrict options that the current administrator is not allowed to grant.

How do I assign a member to specific projects?

Set Project Access to Selected projects, open Manage projects, and choose the projects the member should be able to access.

Does changing project access remove the member from the organization?

No. Project access controls which jobs the member can open. The member can remain part of the organization even when access is limited to selected projects or removed from all projects.

Will changing a member's role affect billing?

It may. Some organization roles use a paid seat while others are included or do not create an additional charge. Skoppe will show the billing impact before the change is saved.

Why is Save Changes disabled?

The button may remain disabled until a setting is changed, or when the current selection is not allowed. It may also be disabled while Skoppe is saving an update.
